Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach, the Charlotte Harbor Gulf Island Coast is noted for its natural, tropical beauty. Located on the Gulf Coast of Southwest Florida, it surrounds Charlotte Harbor, the second largest bay in Florida, with about 100 miles of natural, unspoiled shoreline.

Barrier Gulf Islands – reachable by boat, bridge or auto ferry – lay just off the mainland, with 10+ miles of sprawling, white sand beaches. On the mainland, there is an abundance of natural Florida. Rivers, lakes, canals, lagoons, swamps and freshwater marshes give you a variety of watery locales. Those are complemented with prairies, pine flatwoods, and sprawling stands of hardwoods, palms, mangroves and sea grapes.

Punta Gorda is one of the most photogenic small towns anywhere in Florida, on the southern banks of Charlotte Harbor. Extensive neighborhoods have miles of navigable canals hugging their backyards. Babcock Ranch is one of the newest, fast-growing communities in the state. Powered by a 440-acre field of solar panels, these beautifully landscaped neighborhoods give off a great suburban vibe.

Port Charlotte and Englewood offer every level of residential development. Whether you need old Florida or new Florida, upscale or downscale, or something in-between, you can find it here.

Finally, dress everything in abundant, year-round sunshine, with an average January high temperature of 75 degrees. No need to check the calendar; you’ll have great shooting conditions whenever you come here.

It couldn’t be easier to get here. Interstate 75 and U.S. Highway 41 run north and south through the county. Punta Gorda Airport’s main carrier, Allegiant Airlines, serves more than 40 destinations. Plenty more airlines are available nearby. Southwest Florida International Airport, serving 14 airlines in neighboring Ft. Myers, is just 30 minutes from Punta Gorda. Sarasota Bradenton International Airport operates with 11 carriers and is just 30 minutes from Englewood.

Our film office is dedicated to helping you achieve a successful shoot. If you need help with locations, crew, accommodations, permitting or any other aspect of your shoot, we’re here for you.
