Take a Few Days and Catch Some Rays

Catching grounderThrough out the month of March,the Atmosphere found at a Florida Spring Training Baseball game is unlike anything else. Abundant sunshine and average daily temperatures in the upper-70’s make Florida the destination of choice for 15 of the 30 Major League Baseball team’s spring training programs which is collectively called the Grapefruit League. Escaping northern wintry blasts to travel to Florida and experience spring training is a deep-rooted tradition for millions of fans each year.

The Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, Florida is a newly renovated state-of-the-art facility containing over 5,000 fixed seats and additional berm seating along the first and third base lines. Every seat is a good one offering an up-close and intimate view of your favorite players. The pop of a ball hitting a glove and crack of the bat can be distinctly heard from every seat and every corner of the stadium. In 2014, the stadium was ranked the #1 Best Spring Training Facility in the U.S. by USA Today/10best.com. Majority of the game times are 1:05 p.m. so be sure to pack your sunscreen and come catch some Rays.

Whether you're visiting from out of state or you are a local resident, we hope you can join us at the ballpark. With our fan-friendly venue, there's no better place to enjoy a game than at the Charlotte Sports Park. The 2016 Season has wrapped up... but stay tuned for next years action when the Rays return to Port Charlotte.

Tropicana Field, located in St. Petersburg, is the home of the Rays during regular season. It is only about 90 minutes up the road and makes for a good day trip.  Check out more here.
