Red Tide Support Resources
Additional support and programs have been released due to the (ongoing) issue of red tide. We will attempt to keep these resources as updated as possible:
Visit Florida has announced a program that will aid tourism related businesses in red tide affected counties: Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Sarasota, Manatee, Hillsborough and Pinellas. The program has many features that normally are found within paid membership levels, many of which are available for free through February 28, 2019. This information and links to application can be found here.
Though not directly red-tide related, timing is excellent on this program for businesses with annual gross revenue of $1,250,000 or less. Deadline for this program is August 31, 2018. More information can be found here.
This is strictly a survey and is not an application for resources. This information, however, is critically important for state level government to understand and allocate needed resources. This can be found here.
Activated by Governor Scott on Aug 13, 2018 for businesses negatively affected by Okeechobee algal bloom and naturally occurring red tide. Businesses can qualify for for interest-free loans up to $50,000. This can be found here.
