Spook-tacular Halloween Events Await in Charlotte Harbor & the Gulf Islands October is a boo-tiful time to visit Charlotte Harbor & the Gulf Islands, specifically around Halloween. From Englewood to Punta Gorda, thrills and chills await children of all ages. Following is a sampling of some of the treats awaiting our visitors... Haunting on the Harbor: Oct. 26 - 28 and Halloween Night Punta Gorda's historic district is boo-tiful on Halloween. Plan on spending some time between Oct. 26 - 28 and Halloween night at Haunting on the Harbor on the corner of U.S. 41 & U.S. 17 in downtown Punta Gorda. This ghoulish event features Charlotte County's largest haunted house, hayrides, kid's area with a bounce house, nightly costume contests, a pumpkin patch and more to keep all goblins entertained. Trick-or-Treat Down Spooky Street: Oct. 27 For a not so terrifying Halloween, head out to Trick-or-Treat Down Spooky Street at the Tringali Recreational Center in Englewood, Saturday, Oct. 27. Admission is free and children are invited to dress in costume, bring their own trick-or-treat bags and visit local merchants during this Safe Walk. (www.charlottecountyfl.gov) Tales of Indian Spring Cemetery Hauntingly Historical Walking Tour: Oct. 27 Hear chilling tales of Charlotte County’s past during this event will sell out so get your tickets as soon as possible for the Tales of Indian Spring Cemetery Hauntingly Historical Walking Tour. One-hour tours will be held 6 - 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Advance tickets are available from the Charlotte County Historical Center Oct. 1 - 26 and advance ticket purchase guarantees a selected time slot.
