CHARLOTTE COUNTY WELCOMES U.S. AMATEUR BOYS BASKETBALL

STATE CHAMPIONSHIP JUNE 2–4, 2017

PUNTA GORDA/ENGLEWOOD BEACH, Fla. (May 31, 2017) - Kaboom! The Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Visitor & Convention Bureau was pleased to announce a slam dunk: the U.S. Amateur Basketball Boys State Championship traveled to Charlotte County June 2–4, 2017. Various gymnasiums throughout the county hosted the state tournament.

WHO: U.S. Amateur Basketball Boys State Championship hosted by Charlotte County-based Florida Storm Elite Basketball and the Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Visitor & Convention Bureau.

WHAT: 

  • Basketball tournament anticipated approximately 50 teams with over 30 teams traveling from outside the region.
  • Participating male athletes in the 9th–12th grades.
  • Each team had a three-game guarantee.
