Please join us in welcoming two new Tourist Development Council members: Janet Watermeier and David Haynes.
Janet Watermeier is the Executive Director of the Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda and has served in several civic and business leadership positions and advisory and nonprofit boards, including the FL Transportation Commission, Airport Special Management Committee, SWFL Regional Planning Council, Transition Teams, Workforce Boards, and the Habitat for Humanity Executive Committee. She has received several local and regional awards, including Chambers of Commerce Outstanding Member Awards, Pathfinder Awards, and magazine top ranking listings. She is dedicated to supporting tourism within Charlotte County, particularly in the off season, and brings the perspective of the arts community to the TDC. She strives to serve as a catalyst to engage other art organization in support of Charlotte County tourism development. Her leadership experience and unique perspective will greatly enhance the TDC.
David Haynes is the Broker/Owner of Tarpon Real estate and owner of Gaspar Villas Island Rentals, as well as Chairman of the Governmental Affairs Committee for the Englewood Area Board of Realtors. He is also the President of Beach Homes for the Brave, Inc., a non-profit organization for which David and his wife received the Patriotic Civilian Service Award from the US Army. Beach Homes for the Brave provides free vacations to returning troops. He has previously worked for the State Comptroller's Office in the Department of Banking and Finance as a Financial Analyst Supervisor. His extensive experience and direct contact with, and impact on, Tourism in Charlotte County promises to have a positive effect on the continuing work of the TDC.
