What:   Charlotte and Sarasota County tourism businesses are invited to attend a free marketing session on Google My Business which includes a look into media surrounding red tide.

When:  The program is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 1, 2 – 4 p.m.

Where: The Waverly Restaurant & Bar, 2095 N Beach Rd, Englewood, FL 34223

Why:    Businesses are exposed on Google Maps daily and in many cases, more than a website, social media, and other digital footprints combined. Information about a business is utilized by numerous Google products beyond maps including feeding into the “answer” engines that power voice-powered digital assistants such Google Home and Echo, e.g. “Hey Google, show me restaurants near me.”
Topics to be covered include claiming and managing a business account, obtaining and responding to reviews and questions about red tide, adding new photography, adding 360 images and video, removing poor photos from a listing, understanding Local Google Guides, and leveraging posts.

Who:    The program is coordinated by the Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Visitor & Convention Bureau in partnership with VISIT FLORIDA and Miles Partnership.
How:    The event is free to attend but registration is required. Register and learn more by visiting https://pgeb-google-workshop.eventbrite.com or call (941) 743-1900 and ask for Bry, Julie or Chip.
