During the volunteer training session, participants will learn about the project and survey methods. Volunteers interested in participating in the survey will receive monitoring gear. They will then have until April 25th to complete their 1st assigned survey. Volunteers will sample the same sites again during the two week window between July 16 and July 29. After the July survey, volunteers will return sampling gear to the Extension office.

Volunteers who wish to participate in the monitoring will need to assemble a team of at least 2 individuals, and provide their own boat (or kayak/canoe/paddleboard) transportation to assigned monitoring site. participants will also need to have their own water shoes, mask, snorkel and fins. Groves and weight belt may also be used. We will provide monitoring gear, a dive flag and cooler for samples.
