CHARLOTTE HARBOR & THE GULF ISLANDS, FLA. (April 28, 2016) - The Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB) today announced the hiring of Susan Tobin CAE, CMP, IOM, who will assume the role of Meetings Manager within the Bureau.
Based in Tallahassee, Susan has more than 20 years of event planning and event management experience, specializing in the nonprofit and association arenas. She also boasts an extensive background in association and educational conventions and meetings, board meetings, executive summits, trade shows, non-profit organization meetings and special events ranging in size from 25 to 5,000 attendees.
For the VCB, Susan will aid in the further development of Charlotte County’s meetings and convention bookings through the pursuit of government and association meetings.
“Following the undeniable success of the County’s latest sports and group marketing efforts –and at the urging of community partners who have seen first-hand the impact of these endeavors – the VCB knew the benefits of creating another group-focused position to be great,” said Lorah Steiner, director of tourism for the Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau. “Susan is a perfect fit for the Meetings Manager position and I am sure she will become an integral member of the team, making immediate contributions in the group arena as we work towards our overall visitation goals as a destination.”
Susan’s professional designations include the Certified Association Executive (CAE), Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and Institute of Organizational Management (IOM). She is a graduate of Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida, where she earned a BA in Business Administration. She is also an active member of the Florida Society of Association Executives, Meeting Professionals International and American Society of Association Executives.
