CHARLOTTE HARBOR & THE GULF ISLANDS, Fla. (Jan. 07, 2016) – Picture-perfect beach getaways, thrilling outdoor adventures, and favorite local haunts are some of the activities shared in the 2016 Charlotte Harbor & the Gulf Islands Visitor Guide. The comprehensive resource guide is used by the Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau to promote the destination’s tourism offerings to attract more visitors and create a positive economic impact on Charlotte County.  

The 68-page guide includes a lodging directory along with suggested activities ranging from angling with a local fishing guide to catching baseball fever and hunting for fossilized sharks teeth on area beaches to enjoying a live theatrical performance. The resource guide is supplemented with editorial content and vivid imagery.  

Aqua Marketing & Communications coordinated with the Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau to produce the guide. Eighty thousand visitor guides were published. The guide is the primary fulfilment piece for those expressing interest in visiting the area and requested either through the Charlotte Harbor VCB website, www.CharlotteHarborTravel.com, or in response to other marketing efforts such as print and online advertising. Guides will also be distributed at Southwest Florida International Airport, select retail stores in Tampa and Fort Myers, local chambers of commerce, attractions, accommodations, Official Florida Welcome Centers, tourism trade events, and in the Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau offices. An interactive digital version is available online as well.

Visitors can obtain a guide by calling 1-800-652-6090 or by visiting the Bureau office at 18500 Murdock Circle, Room B-104, Port Charlotte. The office is open Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
