Last month, the Coastal Conservation Association Florida, Duke Energy and MyFWC continued red tide recovery efforts with the shoreline release of 2,000+ redfish at Ponce de Leon Park in Punta Gorda. The release included approximately 2,000 juvenile fish (some are being released in this video) and 30 adult redfish, all hatchery‐reared and donated from the Duke Mariculture Center in Crystal River.

Since February, more than 14,000 juvenile and adult redfish have been released in Charlotte, Collier, Lee, Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Manatee, and Sarasota Counties.

The public was invited to view the release and although it was a rainy day, CCA Florida said the Charlotte County release had the largest attendance.
