The Punta Gorda Hibiscus Festival is returning to beautiful Laishley Park on the waterfront in downtown Punta Gorda this weekend, May 19-20, 2012. The 2-full day event will offer a plethora of hibiscus flower and tropical plant vendors, live entertainment, food and refreshments all weekend long.
 
In between your exploration of the many different kinds of flora, sightsee through the butterfly tents and enjoy the many arts &crafts. Be sure to take a Secret Gardens Tour and jump on the free Trolley Rides around town to the Train Depot, History Park, and Fishermen’s Village as well! Take the kids to the play area filled with inflatables and a rock wall. The Veteran Motor Car Club of America will also be there with restored historic and antique cars.
 
Live music will be playing all weekend starting at 9:00 a.m. both days (when gates open). A full schedule can be found at the Hibiscus Festival website. There will also be a Miss Hibiscus Festival and plenty of food, wine, and beer. All proceeds will go to the Museum Society in support of their activities with the Charlotte County Historical Center supporting the heritage of Charlotte County.
